Parent Teacher Association

Welcome to High Hesket School Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

You don’t have to do anything special to join the PTA, every parent is automatically member. If you want to get involved with fund raising events at the school then please just register interest by talking to one of the committee members or asking your child’s class teacher how to get involved.

We have a regular core of parents who help keep things ticking over by planning the events for the year and liaising with the school to ensure we fund the things they need. We also throw a great Halloween party and Summer disco.

It’s this close working relationship with parents and teachers alike that provide a great way to get to know more people at your Children’s School and to really get involved with events that we know the kids love and really benefit from.  Whilst it might feel a little daunting the first time you attend a meeting or offer to help at an event, we promise that you will always be welcomed.

We fund loads of things at the schools request; from the buses to Christmas trips the children do each year, to vital computer equipment to aid the children’s learning.  It’s a real opportunity for the children to get involved as well.

We are hopefully contributing to the memories that children will have of their primary school years through the fun parties and activities that we do, as well as enhancing their educational experience through the additional equipment that we can provide the school through funds raised.

It’s easy to put off helping out on the PTA as with young children, time is short and life is full. However, the primary years are the only time that your child will still be excited to see you in school. Now is the time to make the most of it before we become and major embarrassment and destroyer of fun!

An hour of your time to attend a meeting or help set up or clear up after an event makes a huge difference. If everyone came 5 minutes earlier or stayed 5 minutes longer it would have a huge impact. You will never be in the way or standing on anyone’s toes. There are none of us that wouldn’t give up dreaded hot dog duty!

So, if you’ve taken the time to read this, we welcome you, we would love for you to be involved and we look forward to seeing you soon.
