Pupil Premium at High Hesket CE School

In 2011-12 the Government launched its Pupil Premium funding.

This money is sent to schools based on the numbers of pupils in the school who are eligible for Free School Meals(FSM). From 2012-13, this has been expanded to include all children who have been eligible for FSM within the last 6 years.

This money is allocated to initiatives which remove barriers to learning to ensure pupils reach their full potential both academically and socially.

Measuring the impact of PPG spending

The school will evaluate the impact of the funding through:

  • Pupil progress
  • Pupil’s self-confidence and emotional development

The impact will be monitored through:

  • The school’s tracking system
  • Pupil progress meetings
  • The school’s monitoring programme including lesson observations
  • Parent consultations
  • Discussion with pupils/pupil questionnaires

Schools, headteachers and teachers will decide how to use the Pupil Premium allocation, as they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for individual pupils.
