Pupil Premium at High Hesket CE School

Pupil Premium funding.

Pupil Premium funding is provided to schools based on the numbers of eligible pupils in the school. This money is allocated to initiatives which remove barriers to learning to ensure pupils reach their full potential both academically and socially.

The funding is used for 3 main goals:

  • to support high-quality teaching, such as staff professional development
  • to provide targeted academic support, such as tutoring, including through the National Tutoring Programme (NTP)
  • to tackle non-academic barriers to academic success, such as difficulties with attendance, behaviour and social and emotional wellbeing

"Schools, headteachers and teachers will decide how to use the Pupil Premium allocation, as they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for individual pupils."
