High Hesket Values

High Hesket CE School is a rural school set in wonderful outdoor grounds with a wide and supportive school community which we celebrate being part of. In 2019, we took the opportunity to review and revisit what is important to us as a school and felt it was essential to involve our children and school community in deciding what values should underpin our learning. In our classes, the children identified the words, values and learning experiences that they felt best represented our school and we compiled a long list as a starting point. To ensure as many of our community members were involved as possible, we asked parents, governors, visitors, staff and children to identify their ‘top ten’ from the list and we were delighted with the ten values that were overwhelmingly recognised as being key to our school. Our chosen values of kindness, friendship, creativity, safety, respect, confidence, outdoor learning, happiness, supportiveness and community are at the very heart of everything we do and drive our curriculum and learning experiences.
